The Trace Of Memory

"THE TRACE OF OUR HISTORY THAT SCARS ON OUR SKIN, ON OUR EARTH, FADES UNDER LAYERS OF HOPE, BUT REMAINS UNDER THE SURFACE AS A CONSTANT REMINDER"

Like veins in geological formations that show determining conditions in periods of time, the project is nothing more than a journey "dug into the earth, in our memory", to rediscover or highlight and value the facts that defined a period of darkness in our history, but also the acts of courage, heroism, righteousness, and honesty that decisively fought drug trafficking. In this way, in the "memory" walls resulting from the excavation, a dark strip appears that symbolizes the period between 1983 and 1994, from which, at certain points, that tell determining events or heroic acts and stories of the people who fought for justice are displayed.

An Austere Landscape Intervention

A project consists of a simple landscape intervention aiming to be austere and give the spotlight to the stories that is meant to be tell and remembered along the path drawn by the project. This organic path is delimited by a series of rammed earth walls and it always maintains a lower level than the natural terrain to give the visitor a different perspective. Focusing your attention on the wall itself and the story that it tells. In addition, it allows people to have a feeling of finding themselves exploring underground, "exploring their memory", and to feel a certain respect for the vegetation or the natural environment that is in front of them growing on a higher level. This path is also designed to give the visitor different possibilities of routes and rest areas, connecting the main access points of the park.
