The infrastructure of the TransMilenio System

The infrastructure of the TransMilenio System is made up of stations, portals and some courtyards, subjected daily to the traffic of more than two million users and thousands of bus trips, which cause a natural deterioration due to its constant use; This deterioration is compounded by more than 17 years of operation and the fatigue of the materials is becoming more and more notorious, without ruling out the continuous vandalism to which the infrastructure is subjected.
Additionally, for some years the phenomenon of payment evasion has had a significant impact and
negative the system infrastructure, forcing it to be maintained and improved more frequently.

In this sense, the maintenance of the infrastructure is essential to guarantee the provision and security of
an adequate public transport service in the City. Thus, within the framework of this project, the technical, administrative and financial supervision of the contract is being carried out by which said maintenance, rehabilitation and improvement of the infrastructure of the BRT component of the mass transport system of the city of Bogotá DC.

Maintenance and improvement are crucial for this massive necessity of transport.

Seeking continuity in the adequate provision of the service to public transport users, leaving
this infrastructure permanently and uninterruptedly subjected to preventive and corrective maintenance,
avoiding the termination of the useful life of the same system.
